Oracle Open World

For Oracle Open World 2019, I led a small team of artists to create multiple media pieces: the highest budgeted piece being the opening video for the conference. These media pieces had multiple uses and created a richer branded experience for attendees.

Our team worked as an extension of the Oracle team with us at Hectic Digital / InVision focusing on motion elements. It was quite the endeavor, and if you continue to scroll down this page you'll get a feeling for some of it.

Multiple Outputs

We had to engineer outputs for several different aspect ratios. It was an interesting challenge to keep the integretity of each design regarless of the format

Award Winning

A lot of different outputs were created for OOW19, but the opening video took the cake winning a Gold Telly! This is the Telly listing here

Oracle's new branding hung from every corner of the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Motion elements added extra life.

Systematic

Despite the organic aesthetic of the branding, all of the motion was setup in a very systematic way so that most animation was on a loop, and there was constant interest for people walking around the Moscone halls.

Control

Because the motion system was setup ahead of time it created consistency troughout, where different artists could pick up assets and make an immediate impact without comprimising the overall show aethetic.

And as metioned at the top, the Opening video experience was a hit! The video below shows what went into the creation of such a wide format.

I worked tightly with the internal Oracle team to make sure the imagery we were producing was maching the messaging for the event. Because of the transpaency between the two teams, there was very little rounds of revision, and ultimately our efforts were awarded.
